The Haunted Garden

The Haunted Garden was my annual Halloween yard haunt. It ran from 2010-2013 in a quaint little suburb of Silver Spring Md, just outside Washington DC. What began as a spontaneous fun Halloween themed walk through for kids in the neighborhood turned into an over the top, interactive art display, grabbing the attention of  the Montgomery County court system which then led to the City Paper, Washington Post, Fox5 news, Dc101 Radio, NPR, news stations across the country and even Good Morning America. But after a lengthy court battle over zoning issues, we were finally shut down making 2013 the last time we could operate from the location.

We found a new home from 2014-2016, as an art installation for the 2-day EDM event - The Nightmare Festival in Baltimore, MD Halloween weekend.  2016 marked my final year with Festival as I have taken on a new job designing for Markoff's Haunted Forest in Poolesville, Md.

Below are links to the past few years on the Haunted Garden journey.
Enjoy!

THE VIDEOS

This is a 12 minute "Behind The Scenes" walk through from beginning to end, the day after opening night. We had some wind damage as the hurricane was approaching for our last night open. I was assessing the damage to see how much extra work I would need to do to open for our 2nd night.
